Holsenbeck Elementary was a compilation of stories Friday morning as students dressed up as their favorite book characters and held a parade, complete with drum line, fire truck and police car. Though all students were encouraged to dress up, the 363 students who marched in the parade were the ones who read 10 or more books over the summer. The Winder-Barrow High School cheerleaders and senior football players also marched in the event. Parents and families were invited to stay after the parade for reading engagement activities in the classrooms.
