The Winder Housing Authority’s Resident Community Council is hosting its third annual community bike ride, and this one has even more to offer.

The ride will take place at 10:30 a.m. May 31, start at 199 Wood Avenue, and go around the Glenwood neighborhood. There will also be food and games.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and ages 6-16 must wear a helmet.

For the first time, there will actually be two rides this year, a 7 ¾ mile ride for adults and a 2 ¼ mile ride for youths.

The ride is in conjunction with Bicycle Month, as Winder Mayor David Maynard recently issued a proclamation declaring May as such.

All participants must be registered. RSVP/Pre-register at (678) 425-6960.

There is also still a need for donated helmets, and those who wish to donate can call the same number for more information.
