The Heritage Patriots needed a 15-yard touchdown pass with about half a minute to play to beat Apalachee 35-28 in Conyers Friday night, extending Apalachee’s losing streak to 18 games.

Neither of the teams heading into Friday night’s meeting between Apalachee High School and Clarke Central are having the seasons they hoped for.  The Wildcats are still miring in a 14-game losing streak while Clarke Central, a team some figured to be the favorite in Region 8-AAAAA with a Division I running back in the stables and experienced players all across the board, is struggling to maintain a playoff spot after starting the first four games of the season with three losses.
