Representative announces his plans to seek re-election

POSTED: February 26, 2014 1:00 p.m.

Georgia House Representative Terry England has announced his plans to seek re-election this November.

"I am running for my 6th term in the Georgia House and if re-elected, look forward to representing the 116th District for another two years," England told the Barrow County News. "I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have served to this point and hope that my
constituents feel I have represented them in a respectful and responsive manner. We have been able to do many good things working together over the last ten years."

England said that his proudest moment so far has been the new campus for Lanier Technical College, which will be located with the Sims Academy for Innovation and Technology.

He also said that it has been "incredibly enjoyable" helping his constituents and citizens of his district.

"There is no better feeling for an elected official than that
sense of accomplishment when you have been able to help someone who has a need," England said.

England will move forward with his plans when he qualifies next week for his seat.

It's not just state seats that are up for grabs.

Commissioners Ben Hendrix, Isaiah Berry and Billy Parks all will seek re-election for their respective seats this November.
