People are rallying behind the family of a 29-year-old Winder man killed in a wreck last week.

A page on has been set up to raise money for the college fund of Cody Brantley’s daughter Ayla. The page, which includes a photo of Brantley and his wife Amie holding Ayla, has comments from people who knew Brantley as well as strangers sending their condolences for the tragedy.

The page created by his sister-in-law Amber Marquardt Drake had received more than $11,000 in donations as of Friday afternoon. The goal is $25,000.

Brantley, who worked as a landscaper, died June 4 when a tractor trailer ran into the back of his pickup truck along Highway 316 near Patrick Mill Road.

A celebration of life service will be held today at 4 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church. Visitation was scheduled to take place Saturday from 4p.m.-9 pm.

Brantley is the son of Susan and Bernard Brantley. The Winder-Barrow High School graduate was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he sung in the choir and he also had attended St. Matthews Catholic Church.

"Cody was a special guy— always had a smile on his face and something positive to say," Marcie Fambrough posted on Go Fund Me. "He and Amie were two peas in a pod! Humanity has suffered a loss this week. My prayers go to his wonderful wife Amie, his precious baby girl Ayla and their families."

Authorities have charged Roger Dale Bly with second-degree vehicular homicide for the death of Brantley. If convicted, the Murfreesboro, Tenn. resident could face up to one year in jail and be fined $1,000.
