Barrow County Emergency Services will have a new records management system.

County Commissioners voted Tuesday to spend $154,000 for a new system that will handle the BCES’s various records. The software system will handle information in areas such as fire inspections and investigations and shift scheduling.

The system would be paid for over a five-year-period with the capital project fund. It would leave the remaining balance at $345,000.

County officials will vote later this month on whether to award an $180,975 maintenance contract for the county’s water tanks.

Commissioners also appointed Barrow County Chamber of Commerce President Tommy Jennings to the Georgia Bioscience Joint Development Authority.

Guy Herring, director of Economic and Community Development for Barrow, was also named to the board.
