Hundreds of people were in Winder Tuesday morning to pay their respects to former Barrow County resident and Gwinnett County firefighter David Carr. Members of various departments — Winder Fire and Police, Barrow Sheriff’s Office, Barrow EMS and out-of-county agencies were in attendance as Carr’s procession came through Winder. Just three weeks following a string of gas wars in Winder, stations seem to be back to business as usual, including the Shell station on Midland Ave., where owners Mark Mahmud and Nick Rahman claimed less than a month ago that their station would continue to offer the lowest prices in Winder. "We will ... sell at the lowest prices," said Rahman, "from here on out."
