Since sixth grade, Jenkins has been working toward being named valedictorian or salutatorian (she will graduate as salutatorian this May). MENTORS Every day Barrow County students meet with mentors who provide them a non-threatening relationship and a listening ear. Many mentors in Barrow County are school staff and administrators and community leaders, but each high school also takes groups of older students to mentor children at the elementary and middle school level. |

The competitive events consist of written exams, oral competitions, healthcare skills and team events. Emily Wilkins won first place in the Sports Medicine event. School transportation building now in service Barrow County Schools hosted an open house March 4 prior to the rescheduled Board of Education meeting to celebrate the new transportation building.
