Man arrested in connection with Statham area homicide A Barrow County man was arrested Saturday morning and charged in connection with the stabbing death of an Athens man whose body was found Friday just before midnight in a ditch off Booth Road near Statham.

MENTORS Every day Barrow County students meet with mentors who provide them a non-threatening relationship and a listening ear. Many mentors in Barrow County are school staff and administrators and community leaders, but each high school also takes groups of older students to mentor children at the elementary and middle school level.
