The Winder Christmas Parade through downtown Winder begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday from the parking lot of Ingles on North Broad. Entries will have the theme, "A Beadland to Barrow Holidays Season," which reflects a period of history that the people of the area have witnessed since the settlement of Snodon Village.

The entries already in for the parade include Bethlehem First Baptist Church which will have a bus entered into the parade.

The 2008 Miss Spirit of Relay will be riding in a car and The Peoples Bank will also have a car entry.

211 Inert Landfill & Waste is entering a train with children riding in the parade.

Affordable Impact Marketing has a float entered and American Heritage Girls Troop 594 will be taking part.

The American Legion Post 53 will have an honor guard and float.

Ouzts Chevrolet will have a pace car riding in the parade, and HAM and JAM Creations, a new downtown Winder business, will be in the parade.

Barrow County Christian Academy is entering a float and the Barrow County Girl Scouts will have a walking unit participating.

Barrow County Cheer Association Bulldogs and the Barrow County Cheer Association Wildcats will each enter a float. Community Bank & Trust and Baco Exterminating Service will also field floats for the holiday parade.

Charlotte’s School of Dance will field walking units as well as a float for the Christmas parade.

The City of Auburn will have two floats in the parade.

Dwayne Walton will have a truck entry and the Moms Club of Winder will have a car entered as well.

Girl Scout Troop 11807 will have a float topped with 18 Scouts and leaders and Troop 1858 will participate. Cub Scout Pack 789 will enter a float.

Mulberry Grove Assisted Living will have its bus in the parade.

Peace Place is working on a float for the parade.

Red Boot Ranch at McLocklin Farms will have a mule cart and walkers to participate.

Equine Retirement Center will enter a miniature donkey-drawn cart.

Saint Matthew Council #13229 will be walking in the parade. The Church @ Pierce Road will have a trailer involved in the parade.

Winners of the Apalachee Cheerleading-sponsored pageant will also take part in the parade. Twin Tigers Karate Academy will have 50 participants with three trucks entering the parade.

Will Peterson Salon & Spa is planning a float and the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre will also have a float entry. Sydney Ryan will also participate.

The Winder-Barrow High School Band and the Apalachee High School Band will be performing in the parade.

The Winder Fire Department will enter two fire trucks and have participants walking alongside.

A float, horse-drawn wagon and tractors will be entered by the Winder-Barrow FFA.

Young Miss Red and Black Cassie King, Miss Red & Black sixth grade princess Kaylin Orr and Junior Miss Red and Black Amy Roton will be riding in the parade.

Rolloff Systems plans to have a float in the parade and the Slow Rollers will ride motorcycles and have a float.

Ragland Chiropractic Center will enter a car, unicycle and walkers.

Barrow County Fire & Emergency Services will be participating with a fire truck rolling along the route. Friends of Fort Yargo will enter a float and bicyclers.

The Barrow County Historical Society will have a vehicle entry, the Barrow County Museum will have an equestrian entry and the Harley Riders will be on their motorcycles.

Double G Saddle Club will have an equestrian entry.

Cartridge World of Winder will be in a car.

Apalachee FFA group has a float entry.

Girl Scout Troops 11805 and 11840 will share a float in the parade and Magnolia Estates will be participating in a limousine.

Studio One has entered a float and will have marchers and Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church will be marching.

Kidz Academy has entered a float along with a school bus and The Barrow County News will be participating with a truck.

Student Council of Winder-Barrow Middle School will have a float in the parade.

Miss Savannah State University, Tirrany Thurmond will be riding in a car and entrants from the Miss Dacula Pageants will ride in a float.

Legacy Scapes Inc. has a float and Boy Scouts Pack 750 and Cub Scout Pack 774 each have float entries.

Sonic Drive-In will have a car in the parade and Georgia Mudcats Baseball and Krystal Company both have float entries.

Activities are planned in downtown all day beginning at 11 a.m. with a stage and inflatables set up for children in the gazebo area. Vendors will be on hand with festival-type food - cotton candy and popcorn - and the entertainment begins at noon with The Laughing Pizza, a family group of performers. The Yargo Community Concert Band are also among the line-up.

Young carolers from area churches will be singing in several areas downtown and the parade starts at 2 from Ingles and continues to the Courthouse. Santa Claus will be bringing up the rear and will disembark to visit with children at the Gazebo.

At 5:30 all the carolers will gather at the Christmas tree for the official tree lighting by Mayor Chip Thompson.

At dark, a mule drawn-wagon will transport people to the Sanctuary of the Holy Spirit where Dickens-style carolers will lead the visitors in song. Hot chocolate, hot cider and other refreshments will be served on the church lawn.
