Lionel Henry Sanders, 47, of Auburn was arrested on Nov. 2 after he was allegedly trespassing at Shackelford Park after hours.
Auburn police were patrolling the park and spotted Sanders’ vehicle at the far end of the parking lot in an unlit area.
When questioned, Sanders said he was coming from work near the county dump off Carl-Bethlehem Road and was headed to Dacula. He said he stopped at the park to use the restroom.
Police noted that Sanders’ vehicle was parked more than 20 yards from the lone restroom at the park. Officers observed that Sanders was acting nervous and was shaking when being questioned.
A search of Sanders’ car revealed an adult magazine in the front seat hidden beneath a jacket, another magazine located on the side of the driver’s seat console and bottle of Vaseline tucked behind the driver’s seat.
Sanders was cited and released on one charge of criminal trespass city ordinance.
