At Bishop Park in Athens the Apalachee boys won their second straight Region 8-AAAA match with a 3-2 victory over Cedar Shoals on Monday.

Cody Dupre won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while the Wildcats lost at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

The doubles teams provided the saving grace. The No. 1 doubles pair of Jamie Heglund and Pheng Vue won 6-0, 6-1, while the No. 2 pair of Aaron Brown and Michael Duchense won by forfeit.

The girls team did not play Monday, but they will join the boys on Thursday against rival Winder-Barrow. The girls will play at the Winder YMCA and the boys will be at AHS at 4 p.m.
