A report of an aggravated assault that occurred March 1 at a Stephens Street apartment is under investigation by the Winder Police Department.
The incident was not reported until March 5.
According to the complainant, she, her sister and a friend were in the apartment and heard a knock at the door. No one responded to a question of who was at the door so the victim opened the door, which was pushed open by two suspects, described as black males with handguns.
The assailants ordered the females to the floor and demanded money.
One of the victims reported she had recently received her income tax refund check. One of the victims handed over $20 but the suspects wanted more.
The suspects demanded the victims’ purses and searched the location for money. While one was out of the room, his counterpart began apologizing for their actions and asked for one of the victim’s phone number.
In other reports, shoplifting charges were filed against Amy Michelle Doster after she signaled the alarm as she exited Fred’s on March 7 after making a purchase. Confronted by the manager, Doster said she had a pack of razor blades in her purse. Checking the purse, other items including three toothbrushes, were also found.
