To the editor:
It is my wish as owner of West Jackson Medicine Center to thank all of the EMS and Sheriff’s Officers that responded to the accident at my Pharmacy on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. Your kindness and professionalism made a horrible situation more bearable! Words can’t adequately express my gratitude for everything that was done by all of the local heroes.... And, thanks be to God that no one was fatally injured!
Three employees were injured at the scene and transported to local Hospitals. One employee was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and quickly released after evaluation. Two employees were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. One of the two was treated and released around 8:30 p.m. The third employee, my Mother, remains in Athens Regional for continued treatment of her injuries.
I greatly appreciate all of the people of our community that have shown up for support and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured employees. I am grateful to each and every person that has assisted in coordinating and implementing the removal of debris while starting the rebuilding process following the damage. My sincere appreciation to Frank and his staff at Frank’s BBQ for being kind enough to feed those that were working to rebuild West Jackson Medicine Center. Eternal gratitude to Mr. Lendgrin Maddox, my landlord and friend, for all he has done to make certain that details were appropriately handled in this disaster.
It is our goal to be back and working on Monday, Feb. 1, to serve the Healthcare needs of our community. I request that everyone realize that we may be a bit slower than normal in taking care of our patients.... We will be up and limping through the first few days but plan to be running smoothly in a few days.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve this terrific community through West Jackson Medicine Center!
Tracy L. Jordan, R.Ph
Owner of West Jackson Medicine Center
