Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Blair Griffin of Alpharetta announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Blair, to Robert Graham Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gaddy Butler of Lilburn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Raymond Griffin of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mrs. Cleveland James Perkins Jr., of Alpharetta and the Brigadier General Perkins.

She is a 2003 graduate of Walton High School and graduated in 2007 from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Miss Griffin is employed as an account executive with JLH Consulting and is pursuing a Masters degree in Library Information Studies from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Butler is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Butler Sr., of Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. James Ridley Parrish of Winder.

The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Parkview High School. He graduated from Auburn University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. After three years employed by IBM as a financial sales executive, he is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree from Auburn University.

A May 15, 2010 wedding is planned at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur.
