The Dawgs dropped the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 7th to 10th in the BCS bowl standings with their 30-24 win in Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Georgia’s Washaun Ealey was named the SEC’s freshman of the week for his 183 yard performance against the Yellow Jackets. Red-shirt sophomore Caleb King kicked in 166 yards for a combined total of 339 rushing yards.
Defensively the Dawgs removed the stinger from the ‘Jacket’s potent offense with Rennie Curran leading the way with 15 total tackles. Eight solo and seven assists. Akeem Dent followed with 11 total (4 solo-7 assist), Reshad Jones 7 total (3 solo and 4 assist). Reshad Jones also turned in a key pick of a Jabo Shaw pass midway of the second quarter. Justin Houston and Jeff Owens kicked in 6 total tackles each and 15 more players kicked in an additional 32 total tackles.
The Dawgs played with more intensity than any previous game this year. It certainly would be great to have A.J. Green and Bicarri Rambo back in the line-up for a bowl game to be announced no later than this coming Sunday, Dec. 6.
