There’s a new doctor in Barrow County, and she’s ready to take care of its children.
Barrow Regional Medical Center joins in announcing Dr. Jeralyn S. Smith, pediatrician, joined MedLink of Winder. She will have hospital privileges.
Formerly in the Department of Pediatrics of DeKalb Medical Center Hillandale and with the Sulton Pediatric Group in Lithonia, Dr. Smith graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and did her residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. Her internship in Pediatrics was at Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics
She was a Presidential Scholar as a Northeast High School (Macon) graduate and graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Dr. Smith is board-certified in Pediatric Medicine and brings 20 years experience to MedLink Winder and Barrow Regional Medical Center.
She is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Pediatrics.
For two years, she was an assistant professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and spent a year as staff physician in Student Health Services on the University of Kentucky campus.She was a staff pediatrician of practices in Frankfort, Ky., Worcester and Marlboro, Mass., and Decatur, Ga., and she remains a medical staff physician at Henrietta Egleston Children’s Hospital.
She is involved with the Junior League of Atlanta.
She also worked as manager of Georgia Heart and Lung Associates, PC, in Atlanta. She has seen more than 65,000 patients as a medical professional in practice in Georgia, Kentucky and Massachusetts.
MedLink Winder and Dr. Smith are accepting new patients, birth to 18 years. Both sick and well child care are provided in addition to hospital newborn care and school and sports physicals.
