Robert and Patty Johnson of Auburn, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Marie to Jacob Matthew Cason, son of Joe and Pam Cason of Stockbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carlton and Rita Johnson of Auburn and James and Annell Lewis of Decatur. A 2003 graduate of Apalachee High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia College and State University in 2007. She is currently attending Mercer University working on her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and is employed as a third grade teacher at Hopkins Elementary in Lilburn.

The future groom is the grandson of Jerry and Ginger Hendrix of Social Circle and Addie Cason of Stockbridge. He is a 2003 graduate of Stockbridge High School and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from UGa in 2007. He is a client service associate at Diversified Trust Company of Atlanta.

The couple plan their wedding for Saturday, July 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Winder First United Methodist Church.
