Arms of Grace

Lutheran

Angel food ministries

Arms of Grace Lutheran Church is now a distribution point for Angel Food Ministries, a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. Auburn First Baptist

Men’s Bible study is held Mondays at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, Children in Action, Youth Bible study and prayer service begins at 7 p.m. Celebrate recovery is held each Tuesday evening at 7.

Auburn First Baptist Church has a 10:45 Sunday morning service and children’s church. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and bagels are served each Sunday at 8:45. Sunday evening service is at 6 with choir practice at 4:30.

Bethlehem First UMC

Homecoming

Aug. 2

The Worship Committee of Bethlehem First UMC is putting together a photo presentation of the church’s history for its homecoming celebration on Aug. 2. Submit photos from past church gatherings to the church office by July 15.

Bethlehem First United Church offers a Grief Ministry with facilitator, Shirley Alcorn on Tuesday mornings from 11 - 11:30.

Wednesday offerings

A fellowship dinner is held each Wednesday at 6 p.m. followed by children’s choir and youth at 6:30, adult Bible studies at 7 and adult choir practice at 7:30.

Services

Bethlehem First United Methodist Church hosts three worship services weekly.  A communion service is held at 8:30 a.m. in the church chapel, followed by contemporary celebration at 9:30 in the fellowship hall, with a traditional service at 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary.  Sunday school classes are available for all age groups beginning at 9:30 and 11 a.m.   The church is at 709 Christmas Avenue in Bethlehem. consignment sale

Faithfest

Applications for food and craft vendors are now being accepted for FaithFest, an outdoor music festival planned for Sept. 19 on the front lawn of Winder First UMC. Well-known artists, "Echoing Angels," will be the featured group with Mark Shelley Ministries and many other musical groups and speakers. New this year to the annual event will be a 5K Fun Run/Walk. Every Woman’s Bible Study

Thursdays

A women’s community-wide Bible study is held on Thursday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.  at the First United Methodist Church of Winder. This is an interdenominational Bible study for women from all backgrounds and all levels of Bible knowledge. Bible study is also available for children. Pre-registration is required. Service Schedule

Sunday services are at 8:45 a.m. for early worship, 10 a.m. Sunday school and 10:55 a.m. worship service. A Contemporary Worship service is at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday.

Wednesdays

Wednesday services are: supper buffet at  5:45 p.m., Youth handbell practice at 6 p.m. and Chancel Choir practice at 6:45.

Senior Stretch is held each Monday and Thursday at 9 a.m., and the men’s study breakfast is Friday at 6:30 a.m.

Grief support group

A grief support group for adults meets at 6:45 on Wednesday evenings.

The church has a weekday pre-school for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds. Two and three day classes are offered for 2-year-olds from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Three, four and five day classes are offered for 3-year-olds from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and four and five day classes are offered for 4-year-olds from 8 a.m.-noon.

Habitat for Humanity-Barrow County

How you can help Habitat

The Barrow County chapter of Habitat for Humanity is asking for the prayers of local churches in its mission to eliminate sub-standard housing in Barrow County. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat works with families in need to build or renovate simple decent housing. Churches may also assist through volunteer labor; providing space for Habitat meetings; preparing and serving meals for construction workers on Saturday workdays; or contributions of money or materials.

Lifeway Church meets at 10:30 a.m. at its new location at 5 Third St. in Auburn. Wednesday services includes prayer at 6 p.m. and Bible study at 7. A Saturday night prayer is held at 6 p.m. and every fourth Friday is a ladies night meeting at 7. Lifeway Church is a non-denominational church that loves God, people and life. St. Matthew Catholic Church

Vacation Bible School

July 6-10

St. Matthew Catholic Church will host an all day Vacation Bible School session July 6 – 10. Children should bring a sack lunch for the day session which runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Pre-registration is not required and there is a charge of $30 for the session.

Six Masses are held each weekend – Saturday Vigil in English is at 5 p.m. and in Spanish at 6:30. Sunday masses in English are at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and a Spanish mass is held at 12:30 p.m. LifeTeen mass is offered at 6 p.m. Weekday mass is at noon on Monday; 7 p.m. on Wednesday; and at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Confessions are heard on Saturday at 4 p.m. or by appointment. Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is held in the chapel 24/7. White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church

Benefit Chicken Que

July 17, 18

The Winder-Barrow Class of ’91 is presenting a chicken que on July 17 and 18 at White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church. The sale is in memory of Sjanna P. Billings and proceeds will go towards helping the family with her funeral expenses. Sjanna died on June 15 of intestinal cancer. The chicken que plates will sell for $7 and will include half a chicken, beans, slaw, bread and dessert provided by Albert Johnson. Monetary donations may also be sent care of the church to P.O.
