It’s become a birthday tradition at Four Seasons Retirement Community to don the red hat and boa when it’s your turn to blow out the birthday candles. Billy Herring, who celebrated his 91st birthday on June 24, was a good sport and sported the celebratory garb. For Peggy Spencer’s 83rd birthday on June 25, Chef Bill, whose wife provided the red hat attire, prepared a decorated Neapolitan ice cream cake to be enjoyed after the luncheon fare. Herring and Spencer were among the Four Season’s June birthday crowd featured in a 2006 article in the Barrow County News.
