No obvious signs as to the cause of death were at the scene so Coroner David Crosby’s office transported the body to the Crime Lab for the autopsy including a toxicology report.

"It could be four to five months before the case is concluded," said Lt. Farr.

Because of the time delay in some investigations, Coroner Crosby is exploring other options to assist in wrapping up cases which can be handled independently. Some cases require the use of the GBI State Crime Lab.

"We are in the process now of hiring an independent lab to speed this process up and we have hired an independent medical examiner," said Crosby.

Services for the Winder-Barrow High School graduate who was involved in sports will be Thursday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Mike Peavey officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bullard Family Trust at The Peoples Bank.
