The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone of the dangers surrounding irresponsible drinking, and especially the hazards of allowing people under 21 to drink alcohol.
Parents are encouraged to verify their children’s whereabouts at all times.

A Bethlehem couple is facing 22 charges after hosting an underage-drinking party that resulted in one minor being hospitalized.
An eighteen-year old girl was dropped off at Barrow Regional Medical Center on Friday. Upon arrival the girl was unresponsive and in critical condition.
The teen had vomit partially blocking her airway passage, causing aspiration and she was only breathing about four breaths per minute according to the incident report.
A normal person breathes about 12-20 breaths per minute.
Nurses told a deputy that the girl was not getting enough oxygen to her brain which could result in brain damage or even death.
Deputies were notified by Barrow Regional about the girl and initially had no information on who had dropped her off. With further investigation, several teenagers, most of whom are still in high school, revealed the address of where the party was held the night before.
Deputies executed a search warrant and found numerous liquor bottles, alcoholic containers and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine at the address.
Deputies also seized numerous tattoo needles, guns equipment and more than 40 bottles of tattoo ink from the residence.
Horace Hutchinson, 36, and his wife, Stacey, 28, were arrested and are facing numerous charges including Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act (VGCSA), maintaining a disorderly house, contributing to the delinquency of minors, furnishing alcohol to persons under 21 and Horace Hutchinson is facing charges of tattooing the body of persons under the age of 18.
Many were consuming large amounts of alcohol that had been purchased by the Hutchinsons, according to the report, and two juveniles were tattooed at the party.
The teenager is no longer hospitalized. The exact date and time of her release has not been made public.
The Sheriff’s Office also encourages parents to engage in conversation with their children on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.
