A Red Pit bull and a white German Shepherd were seen attacking a dog that was tied-up in a back yard on Carter Road March 16.
Auburn Police responded to the call and on arrival, the dog that was attacked appeared to be dead, until officers saw it wag its tail.
The two dogs responsible for the attack belong to Jack Massa of Auburn.
Officers made contact with Massa who told police his dogs had escaped from his fenced-in back yard and still had not returned.
Lisa Mathis and her daughter witnessed the attack on their pet and called police.
The dog was brought inside the house and then taken to a veterinarian’s office for a complete evaluation.
There is no update on the dog’s condition at this time.
No charges were filed in the incident.
