The discovery came following a tip that led Johnson and other investigators to a chicken house in Barrow County.
The Korean wall scrolls are thought to have been hidden in the chicken house for about two years according to Patrol Commander Lt. Danny Kerns of the Auburn PD.
The scrolls have been linked to the 2004 burglary on Browns Bridge Road, of J. Shin Kim.
Paula Wright, of Winder, who was 31 at the time of her arrest, was charged on May 13, 2005 with five counts of burglary and convicted of one count, in connection with the wall scrolls.
"Appraisers estimated the scrolls to cost about $50,000 a piece," Kerns said. "But these were generational ... you never can replace family heirlooms. They were priceless," he said.
One of the scrolls has a story timeline of the family displayed on it in Korean writing and the other has Asian pictures.
Kerns said the scrolls will rightfully be turned over to the Kim family.
